FEED AND FOOD LABORATORY
To verify the proper functioning of the safety monitoring programmes and validate the
processes established in the HACCP system, safety audits are regularly accompanied
by laboratory tests to check whether the discussed criteria they fit with the rules of
reference in each case.
Analytical control of raw materials used in the processes of development and of the
already completed food, together with the environmental analysis, surfaces and
handling areas are essential to ensure the proper functioning of production processes.
The European Union has established safety criteria applicable in feed and food safety
for different kind of products that define the acceptability of the processes and set the
limits to consider food are appropiate for consumption.
There are specific rules for each food sector and for each type of products that set
health limits in the microbiological and physico-chemical criteria applicable.
